Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal. It lies in the Bagmati zone. It lies in the central development region.It is most development region among all the region.It is also knows as mandu the heart of the Nepal. Kathmandu is the core of Nepal's largest urban agglomeration located in the Kathmandu Valley consisting of Lalitpur, Kritipur, Madyapur Thimi, Bhaktapur and a number of smaller communities. Kathmandu is also known as the "KTM". According to the current census the total population of the Kathmandu is 1.003 million.  

Historically, the Kathmandu valley and adjoining areas were known as Nepal Mandala . in the 15th century Bhaktapur was the capital when two other capitals, Kathmandu and lalitpur , were established during the Rana and shaha rule.Kathmandu is the for the tourism in the Nepal. It is also one of the source of income for the people of the place.It has got many facilities the the other region. It is also know ass the most develop region among all the other developing regions . It has got more facilities then other region like it has got many facilities like health facilities, education, transportation and so on by which many tourists are attracted her as well as the country people.

The city stands at an elevation of the approximately 1,400 meters (4,600 ft) in the bowl-shaped Kathmandu valley of the Nepal. Kathmandu valley is surrounded by the four hills and they are Shivapuri, Nagarjun, Phulchoki, and  Chandragiri. Kathmandu is the part of the three district (Bhaktapur Kathmandu and Lalitpur) has  highest population in the country, and is home to about a twelfth of Nepal's population has got many histrocial things like the temple houses made in the ancient time. 

Many cast are found here mostly newer people are found in this region.Most of the people of Kathmandu follow Hinduism and many other follow Buddhism as well as other religion like Islam, Muslim as well as christian.Nepali is the most commonly spoken language in the Kathmandu. Some people use there own language like Tamang, Gurung, Newer, and Sherpa.
