          The Saraswati Pooja is one of the main festivals for the students. The people of our country believe that the Saraswatui is the god of education. So the student of Nepal used to worship her.The festivals falls on the Magh Sukla panchuami that's is the 5th day of the full moon day according to the Nepali calendar. The  festivals is also called ' Basanta Panchami ' or the 'Shree Panchami'. This day also indicated that the beginning of the spring seasons.

           The Saraswati Pooja is the greatest festivals for the student , scholars and educated  of our country Nepal. In this day the student are used to wake up early in the morning and take bathe use to to pray the Goddess of education Saraswati so that she can give power to understand the words as well as the good or bad things to the students. Many school or collage used to organize the programs in order to celebrate the festival.In this day all the school, collage and the universities are gaily are decorated and illuminated with multi- colors by the students.in this day students make the clay idol of goddess Saraswati on road and collect the money so they can buy every necessary items that are used in the students.

             In the Terai the students of that region used to make the clay idol of Saraswati at their school, collage and academic institutes and enthusiastically perform the pooja. When the pooja is finished the students used to ditributed the prasad to all the students in the programs. Every one the pooja takes the prasad by a great honour and devotion. Students also used to put the tika in their face which is puten by the the teacher. The students are also used to go to the greatest temple like pashupati , Gokarnashowar in which they will worship in the front of Saraswati idol. Students also used to write their name around the Saraswati idol by the believe of that she will not forget the name while giving the blesses.

                  When the festival is going to over the students used to take the idols of goddess Saraswati and all the offering are taken to the holy rivers or places to see her off ritually. Thus, this is a nice occasion of merry-making. Further the Shree Panchami is regarded as a pious day to initiatye academic works. So the children do start their learning to read an write, while the students, schoolers also used to worship the their old books , copy , pens and other items that are used in our school life as well as in the collage life. On the other hands the farmer of our country worship their spade or mattock and plough. And they do sow the seedling in the field as well.

                   In short, the Saraswati Pooja is anice occasion to initiate the academic works or activities and even the vital works of life viz- marriage and Bratabanda. It makes the students committed to their study with a spirit of sincerity devotion and perseverance on this pious day. This day is the most important day for the students life.
